Harnessing the power of
collaboration

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used to create them.” This quote, attributed to Albert Einstein, helps Dudley Newmark constantly focus on tackling challenges from a new perspective. From his start as an HR program manager to his current role as senior director for The People Office, Dudley has spent his tenure at FIS finding opportunities to learn, collaborate and rethink everything.

The FIS value he identifies with most is Win as One Team, noting that while each employee can be individually brilliant, the power of coming together and harnessing their collective gifts is “phenomenal." He points to the FIS Future Forward program, where colleagues across FIS have come together to ideate and solve for challenges.

Dudley has also pursued continuous growth through self-learning as well as feedback from peers and managers to help him target areas for development. “All of the managers I have worked for have been very supportive of my desires to grow in my career,” he says. In his current role, he leads his team in reviewing processes and procedures with curiosity about how things work and how they can improve, with the motto of “no stupid questions.”

He has also applied this curiosity to benefit the company at large as EMEA Chair for FamilyFlex, FIS’ network to support working families, as well as by partnering with FIS’ learning team to develop e-learning that showed colleagues how to use design thinking in their day-to-day roles.
